1805-1855 Two Chemises Diagrams and Instructions Pattern
1805-1855 Two Chemises Diagrams and Instructions Pattern

CWSS02 - 1805-1855 Two Chemises. This pattern includes cutting diagrams and instructions only, not full size pattern pieces, as everything is worked from rectangular pieces of fabric. These two chemises are patterned from two extant garments in the Vancouver Museum, both of which have excellent provenance. View A is dated 1805-1807 and View B is dated 1807. They are different from the usual chemises in that they have shoulder straps sewn to the separate front and back pieces, much like the shoulder straps on the dresses of the day. When the drawstrings are adjusted, they sit very nicely on the shoulders and neckline. For those of us who have been looking for a square-necked chemise for years -- here it is at last, in View A! This pattern is historically accurate and drafted based on solid research and documentation of literally hundreds of extant examples. It has excellent engineering and very clear sewing instructions as well as recommendations as to historically appropriate materials. Include instructions for the novice seamstress along with options for more experienced seamstresses. Regency, Colonial, American Revolutionary War, Indian Wars, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, French Civil War.
