Full-size paper patterns with complete instructions and historical notes for man's Kontusz, a Polish man's coat worn over the Zupan starting in the mid-17th century. Variations included for turn-back or dog-ear cuffs and soft collar, high-back low-front collar or narrow band collar. Directions for wearing sleeves wyloty style (as shown on front cover) also included. Fits chests 34"-54". All Sizes in one envelope. Embellishment suggestions included. Suggested Fabrics: coat weight wool, silk or brocade linen or medium weight silk for lining linen or canvas for interlining (optional) may also be entirely or partially lined with fur Yardage Requirements: 5 yds at least 60 wide Notions: thread buckram (optional for collar) 5-12 - frogs or buttons and loops for closure 2x2 - 5/8 buttons and loops for arm closure, braid to taste.
