CWH09 - 1813 to 1855 Men's Caps Pattern. Full size patterns for several workmen's caps ranging in date from 1813 to 1850.

Included sizes:
Small: 22"
Medium: 22 3/4"
Large: 23 ½"
XLarge: 24"

The military cap was not regulation but they are seen in visual records. This pattern includes documentation, choice of fabrics, hints and illustrated directions. This cap -- variously called a clerk's cap, foraging cap, or mechanic's cap -- can be seen on contemporary artworks from 1800 right through the 19th century. In fact, variations can be seen today, the most common being the "Greek Fisherman's Cap". Two variations are included: an "Outdoorsman's Cap" (upper left) for summer and winter wear during outdoor pursuits, and a "Military Cap" (upper right), commonly worn for undress wear by the military of the early 19th century, although it was not a "regulation" cap. The Military crown and band are smaller than the outdoorsman's cap, but the parts are interchangeable for the particular shape or style you want to achieve. This pattern is historically accurate and drafted based on solid research and documentation of literally hundreds of extant examples. It has excellent engineering and very clear sewing instructions as well as recommendations as to historically appropriate materials. Include instructions for the novice seamstress along with options for more experienced seamstresses. Regency, Colonial, American Revolutionary War, Indian Wars, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, French Civil War.
