MI0501 - 1800s Corded Sun Bonnet Pattern. Worn throughout the 19th century. Pattern adapted from originals. Includes 1 adult size and 1 child size. Bonnet adjusts at neck with drawstring. Adapted from an original dated c. 1830; constructed in the same manner as cloak hoods from the 1700's. Hood is lined and bound with silk, ribbon adjusts hood size. Recommended period colors: dark blue, brown, green in plain or plaid. Alternate style of sun bonnet whose brim is stiffened with rows of cotton cording. 100% cotton woven in colorful plaids and checks, bonnet is cut on the bias.
