MRCoif - Arming Coif Pattern by Moidrandall. This is a simple pattern for a two-panel, stretchy, close-fitting hood.
It goes well under a helmet or chain mail for hair and perspiration control. It's a lot easier to wash than your helmet padding and helps keep your hair from being pulled out by the roots. Prevent mail-pattern baldness! The Arming Coif is also good as an extra layer of insulation under your cloak hood.
